2. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: your email address when you register, and the profile information you choose to add (name, date of birth, gender, location, profession, education, cultural background, religion, family values, lifestyle preferences, and profile photo). We also collect technical data such as login timestamps and IP addresses for security purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: operate and improve the platform, show your profile to other authenticated members, facilitate connections between members, send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset), and ensure the safety and integrity of the community. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Who Can See Your Profile
Your profile is visible to other authenticated and verified TamilThunai members. Your email address and contact details are never publicly displayed. You control what information appears on your profile and can update or remove it at any time.
5. Profile Photos
Photos you upload are stored securely via our infrastructure partner Supabase and are accessible only to authenticated members of the platform. You can remove your photo at any time by editing your profile.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile and associated data are permanently removed within 30 days. Some anonymised data may be retained for analytics purposes.
7. Third-Party Services
TamilThunai uses Supabase for database, authentication, and file storage services. Supabase processes your data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies necessary for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing of your data, and data portability. 10. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security policies on our database, and access controls. No system is entirely secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered members of material changes via email. Continued use of TamilThunai after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
